We hope you are staying safe and healthy going into the Christmas and New Year’s Holidays. With 2020 (finally) coming to an end, our team has worked hard to share some of the exciting updates with you so we can march into 2021 with renewed optimism!
Despite limited mobility, we still manage to serve our clients across multiple continents from the hillside of Kumamoto in Japan (50MW) to the deserts of Chihuahua in Mexico (180MW), and from commercial rooftops (1MW) in sunny California to large utility PV farms (100MW) in North Carolina.
Most important, we want to share two major developments at Aerospec:
Fiix-Aerospec Integration
In September, Fiix Inc. and Aerospec Technologies announced a new partnership that sees the two software platforms join forces to amplify the capabilities of maintenance and operations teams in the field and provide solar energy providers with innovative methods to extend the performance and lifespan of solar assets.
Connecting Fiix’s industry-leading maintenance management platform with Aerospec’s cloud-based data analytics platform will allow solar asset owners and operators to monitor equipment and perform routine aerial maintenance inspections on demand. Integrating the two systems gives organizations the power to sync data acquired by drones and analyzed by Aerospec directly with Fiix to trigger maintenance tasks. It will also help companies automate and streamline workflow processes from Aerospec’s aerial inspection report to Fiix’s CMMS and let maintenance teams perform, review, and assign maintenance work all in one place.

AeroSolar Beta release: Automation Deployed.
For years, solar aerial inspection has been limited to manual flights without a dedicated app for pilots. Aerospec is proud to release its fully autonomous inspection app specifically designed for solar. Using the app, pilots can launch pre-planned autonomous missions that collect consistently high-quality data while covering four times more area compared to manual operations. With the app’s real-time tagging feature, technicians can quickly analyze thermography data, insert notes, attach visual evidence all while still in the field.
Aerospec also offers a customized in-person training program for asset owners looking to add aerial inspection capabilities to their field maintenance teams.
For a limited time, pilots can request our beta app for free and follow our tutorial videos here to install the app within minutes.
The first drone training school opens up in New Jersey! – NJ Drone Academy
Just 60 miles from NYC – NJ Drone Academy, Aerospec’s partner facility, is the first drone training academy in the Greater New York region with the focus on how to become an FAA Certified UAV Pilot.
Making solar farm inspection the fastest and easiest way using our app, your O&M team will be trained by NJ Drone Academy’s certified instructors on how to use Aerospec Technologies app and its integrated cloud platform.
Aerospec vs. COVID-19
2020 is almost over but COViD – 19 is still here. Aerospec carries out operations following all the necessary COViD protocols to ensure personnel’s health and safety.
Aerospec’s rapid response team in Mexico continues to perform miracles during the COVID-19 Pandemic. 2,000KM away from Mexico City, our team completed a comprehensive aerial inspection at one of the largest solar farms in Mexico (180MWp) in just four days, following all the proper health and safety protocols.
