What does a startup journey look like?
Peter Thiel, the PayPal co-founder and early Facebook investor, puts these words in the preface of his 2014 book, Zero to One: Notes on Startups, or How to Build the Future:
“In a world of gigantic administrative bureaucracies both public and private, searching for a new path might seem like hoping for a miracle. Actually, if American business is going to succeed, we are going to need hundreds, or even thousands, of miracles.”
Startup entrepreneurs, who dream to create a miracle that disrupts existing markets and impacts the world, may all have this kind of story, typically full of ups and downs, joy and pain, challenges and achievements, but also uniquely reflecting their different journeys.
Here is an example, an unvarnished startup story from Lance Li, the founder and CEO of Aerospec Technologies:
In the latest episode of My Startup Journey, interviewed by Naruki Hirai, Lance Li walks through his own journey with Aerospec, which is a “long battle”, in Lance’s words, for ceaseless selling, pitching, exploring and pivoting.
